Desert Clouds

Thanks to the unusual cold weather we had in the second half of May, I was able to get another desert hike in! I went to the Coyote Mountains Wilderness once more and the area called “Domelands” – if I had to pick one single favorite place in “our” desert here (east of San Diego), this would clearly be it…

It was raining in San Diego and as it is often the case, that meant (very) windy conditions and a mixture of high clouds and sunshine in the desert. The low clouds got stuck at the Pacific Crest as usual, but the high winds created some really interesting cloud shapes:
