Considering that Bernardo Mountain is a peak from the 100 Peaks list that’s right in my neighborhood, it took me a really long time to finally hike it. Shuwen and I had picked a particularly crappy day to hike it too, on a cloudy December morning, but since these articles are supposed to always show the first hike to a list peak, you’ll have to suffer through the poor cellphone images with me. 😉
I’ve hiked Bernardo Mountain again twice after that, and the best time to hike it is of course in spring when everything is green and flowers and shrubs are in bloom – this translates to mid February through mid April, I’d say. (better photos: Morning hike to Bernardo Mountain)
